Objectives

The Seminar aims to:
. promote interdisciplinary knowledge relevant for the systematic and critical analysis of educational research projects;
. discuss theoretical and methodological references that can support the production of original research;
. contact relevant investigators and projects in the educational field.

More specifically, the course has the following learning goals:
. the capacity to conceive and develop research projects in Education Sciences;
. the capacity to mobilize innovative methodological frameworks that serve the complexity of educational and social situations;
. the capacity to justify innovative research and intervention projects that serve the complexity of educational and social situations.

Program

This course unit aims to enrich and support the development of the doctoral students’ research projects and therefore involves three types of sessions: presentation and debate of educational research projects; debate of major references for educational research; tutorial support. These sessions involve both group work with the scientific commission of the doctoral program, and individual tutoring with the supervisors.

Examinations or Special Assignments

Assessment is based on the research project (30-50 pages) presented by the doctoral student that involves the identification and operationalization of the research questions and a first draft of the methodological “how-to-do”. The Project will be discussed by a jury of three (or four) professors, including the supervisor (and co-supervisor), at the end of the second semester.

Observations
