Eligibility for exams
Classes are subject to verification of attendance.
Safeguarding the special cases covered by the law, students who miss more than 25% of classes provided will not get approval in the course.
Calculation formula of final grade
Component 1 - Group work (50%):
a) Evaluation of group and students participation in tutorial meetings (10%);
b) Evaluation of oral presentations (15%);
c) Evaluation of report (25%);
Component 2 - Final exam (50%) - test with multiple choice and little development questions.
To gain approval in the course, students must:
1) to obtain a final mark of 8 values in each of the components of assessment and,
2) obtain a final mark of 10 points (point 2, Art 4 of the General Regulation for the assessment of students FPCEUP).
Examinations or Special Assignments
See Special Assessment.
Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
Students who are legally exempt from verification of the conditions of attendance to classes, have to do the two assessment components defined above.
They have to contact early in the semester (and NEVER after the 2nd class) the teacher in charge (Filomena Jordão).
Classification improvement
"Students can make improvement in classification of test performed once for a course in one of two final exam periods immediately following that in which received approval and that the course has provided examination." (point 1, article 11 of the "General Rules for the assessment of students FPCEUP").
The improvement of the final classification in this course is possible by carrying out a further exam while maintaining valid assessment obtained within the "group work".
