Objectives
This particular Curricular Unit aims the student’s development in the following competencies:
- Planning, implementing and following research processes;
- The quality criteria followed in the evaluation of the inference process made;
- Gathering data techniques.
Program
- Ontological, epistemological and methodological questions underlying methodologies and data gathering and treatment techniques;
- Research strategies: logical-positivists (deductive method) versus naturalistic (inductive method) and the associated quality criteria;
- The quality and quantity as “measure” references in Psychology;
- Gathering data techniques: Observation; Inquiry (interview, questionnaire) and Documental (texts, images, statistics).
