Abstract (EN):
A wide range of electronie equipment contains certain components like lenses, beads, mirrors, CCDS, ete., that have to be precisely positioned. For this task two approaches are usual: nudge the part to the correct position manually (task only suitabie for skilled technieians) or equip the part itself with a micro positioning stage. While the first one requires a long time for fine positioning and elinúnates the possibility of a full automatie assembly line, the second one normally needs too much space and a mechanical connection between the part and the stage.
In this paper wc present a system for positioning printed circult boards automatically in three degrees of freedorn (lat- eral and longitudinal translation and rotation) with sub-núcron aceuracy. The particularity of the system lies in the fact that neither a mechanical link exists between the actuators and the board, nor that the board is positioned over the actuators. There- fore the board can be pushed but not pulled. The solution is sought in the use of piezo impact actuators combined with a feedback control system incorporating adaptive control.
