Resumo (PT): The main goal of this work is the study of the dynamic effects on bridges caused by high speed railway traffic, from the structural and traffic safety point of view and also as to what concerns passenger comfort. The studies are carried out numerically using a dynamic analysis model which considers the interaction between vehicle and bridge. In a first application of the model, a study is performed of the dynamic behaviour of a railway bridge submitted to the passage of a train with two locomotives, one at each end, and thirteen carriages. The bridge, made of reinforced and prestressed concrete, has a simply supported deck with a span of thirty metres. The response is analysed concerning: structural safety, through the observation of the dynamic magnification factors in terms of stresses; traffic safety, via the observation of the accelerations and rotations of the extremities of the deck; passenger comfort, by studying the accelerations in the train carriages. A second application of the model concentrates on the study of the dynamic effects on the subgrade-structure transition, due to the different methods of track placement on these two types of support. The study takes as reference the Riada bridge, on the Linha do Norte of CP (Caminhos de Perro Portugueses). The response is analysed from the traffic safety point of view, through the observation of the stability of contact between wheel and rail.

The study takes as reference the Riada bridge, on the Linha do Norte of CP (Caminhos de Perro Portugueses). The response is analysed from the traffic safety point of view, through the observation of the stability of contact between wheel and rail.
