Abstract (EN): The instrument Beckman-Couiter® GEN*S® is a full automated hematology analyzer that gives CBC+Diff+Retics results, flag the presence of abnormal cells and has also a Investigation Screen that gives: Mean and SD of Volume (V), Opacity (C) and Rotate Light Scatter(S) about WBC populations: NE, LY, MO, EO. In a previous papers, it was published the useful of the Investigation Screen parameters in the diagnostic of CLL (Hematologica page 172 Vol. 83 supl.2 OCT. 1998). We have evaluated this investigation screen parameters for the lymphocyte population in our Hospitals during this year and we analyze several aspects of this new parameters, seraching about the next features: Precision: Two normal and two abnormal samples (Viral Infections) 10 times(Table 1) Reference values: 30 Blood donors, four different Hospitals and five instruments (1 Hospital 4 have 2 GEN*S)(Table 2) We found differences between instruments, for this reason we recommend to use the Ratio between the result and the mean of the normal samples (blood donors)for each parameter.
