I received my PhD in History from the University of Bologna “Alma Mater Studiorum” (2013). I worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Leiden University-Institute for History. I was a FCT post-doctoral fellow at the Centro de Investigação Transdisciplinar «Cultura, Espaço e Memória» (CITCEM)-Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto (FLUP). I collaborated with the National University of San Juan (Argentina) as a Visiting Professor, and with the National University of Mar del Plata (Argentina) in research projects. I worked as an Integrated Researcher and as an Invited Assistant Professor at the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP)-Centro de Estudos de História Religiosa (CEHR). Since 2025, I work as an Assistant Professor at FLUP and as an Integrated Researcher at CITCEM. My main research interest lies in the History of the Catholic Church in Italy and in the Iberian Peninsula between the eleventh and the thirteenth centuries.
