Abstract (EN):
This article gives useful and practical definitions of terms associated with the status of the human embryo, such as "embryo", "beginning of life" and "person". Biological and philosophical aspects are discussed, which include some history from Aristotelian ideas of life, soul and common sense, via the views of the Catholic Church to the current problems based on advanced technology. Questions arising include: Is the status of the embryo "in vivo" and "in Vitro" diferent? and Is there a scale of respect related to the age of the embryo?
