Objectives
The student know the manipulation of dermotopic formulations and influence the treatment of dermatosis, lesions,distrophyc conditions and use of cosmetics.Additionaly the evaluation of cutaneous parameters by biometry is done for to characterizer the type of skin.
Program
I. Functions, disfunctions and parameters of the skin
1. Several dermatosis, lesions and disorders founded usually in Portugal.
2.Topic and complementary treatment
II Cosmeceutics, cosmetics and personal care products
1. Guidelines
2. The official categories of cosmetics
3.Compositions, specifc agents and its mechanism of action
4.Legal Ingredients and labelling
5.Justification for prohibit and restriction rules
6. Evaluation of quality, efficacy and acceptation of cosmetics.
III. Presentation of several themes for facultative presentation.
Teaching methods and learning activities
a) Theoretical classes: 2 hours per week
b) supervising themes for individual or team work development
c)Laboratory practices: 2 hours per week for preparation and filling of dermopharmeceutics and cosmetics; evaluation of cutaneous parameters by biometry and characterization of the skin
d)facultative project

-The assiduity in the laboratorial lessons is compulsory, as established in the Norms of Evaluation of the FFUP.

Final Classification = 90% Classification of a written test (0 to 20) + 10% Facultative Theme Presentation
