Summary: This project aims at developing compiler analysis and code generation techniques as well as extended existing constructs of a popular language, MATLAB, to substantially reduce the development time and code maintenance costs associated with existing science and engineering solutions in the embedded and configurable computing domains.
The techniques and methodologies developed and prototyped in this project will, we believe, improve the competitiveness of Portuguese companies dealing with MATLAB models and specifications (such is the case of Deimos Engenharia Lda, which will act in this project as a consultant). Deimos is a privately held Portuguese company directed to the engineering design of space systems in the areas of: Mission Analysis, Ground Navigation & Control Systems, Ground Segment Systems, Space Software Systems and Real-Time Systems.
In addition this project will promote the applied research between the academic institutions and a Portuguese company, with international impact. We believe this can be the motto for future and fruitful projects. We believe this project will be contributing with stronger competences to all the partners in the system engineering and embedded system domains.
