ADDRESSEES

The following are admitted as candidates for enrollment in the 2nd cycle of studies leading to the degree of Master in Pharmaceutical Chemistry:

  1. Holders of a bachelor's degree or legal equivalent and whose curricular plans have a marked pharmaceutical, medical, chemical and/or biological component;
  2. Holders of foreign higher academic degrees, as long as their respective curriculum vitae demonstrates adequate scientific preparation;
  3. Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum, which is recognized as attesting the ability to carry out this cycle of studies by the scientific council of FFUP, after consulting the scientific committee of the study cycle.
  4. Recognition of previously completed training and professional experience and consequent accreditation in the study cycle is subject to the submission of an application for this purpose.

International students are those indicated in article 3 of Decree Law no. 36/2014, of March 10, as amended by Decree Law no. 62/2018, of August 6, and amended by Decree Law 20/2025, of March 18, as well as by article 1 of Regulation no. 664/2018, of October 16.

NOTE: Under the terms of UPorto's international student status regulations, if a candidate holds two or more nationalities but one of them is Portuguese, they will not be able to compete through the special competition for international students. If the candidate has two or more nationalities that do not include Portuguese, but one of the nationalities is from a member state of the European Union, they may choose one of them (article 1 of Regulation No. 664/2018, of October 16).

Failure to pay dues in due time leads to the outright rejection of the application.
To pay the fees, the candidate must access the “Current Account”, click on the symbol Imagem , where it’s possible to choose the payment method (MB Way, MULTIBANCO Reference, Bank Card). In the case of payments made from abroad, the candidate must make a bank transfer, at the expense of the payer, using the data in document em anexo, and must send proof of the transfer to posgrad@ff.up.pt , with the following data: Application login and full name. 

ATTENTION: Candidates not placed in one phase and who wish to apply for another phase will have to submit a new application and pay the respective fee again.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR APPLICATION (ONLINE)

  1. Identification document (passport or any other legal equivalent document) or declaration containing identification data;
  2. Taxpayer number (NIF);
  3. Declaration under pledge of honour that the candidate is covered by international student status;
    Certificates of degree(s) obtained and postgraduate degrees (must include average and indication of the scale used);*
  4. Documents proving academic qualifications (Certificate proving ownership for a Foreign Academic Degree (must include average and indication of the applied rating scale);*
  5. Diploma Supplement (with the indication of the average, according to the European scale of comparability **) or the Certificate of the curricular units completed in the Higher Education course from where the student comes from, with the respective marks and ECTS, in which the annual curricular units are identified. In the absence of this indication, the curricular units will be assumed as semester units;
  6. Curriculum vitae (academic, scientific and professional experience, including publications, participation in research projects and training courses attended by the candidate);
  7. Document proving professional experience or internships attended by the candidate;.
  8. Other documents that you consider relevant for the application of the ranking criteria.

* Foreign documents or documents issued abroad must be authenticated by the official education services of the respective country, and recognized by a Portuguese diplomatic or consular institution in the country in which they were obtained, or alternatively, legalized by the Apostille system under the Hague Convention. Documents not written in Portuguese should be translated into Portuguese or English.

** The Candidates who do not present a document proving the final mark of the course, according to the European Scale of Comparability of Grades, will be awarded an E grade.

DOCUMENTOS REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR RE-ENTRY (ONLINE)

    1. Identity Card/Citizen Card/Passport or other legally equivalent document (Valid identification document);
    2. Tax Identification Number (from Portugal);
    3. Document proving the curricular units completed or, alternatively, presentation of a PDF document of Sigarra's academic path.

APPLICABLE LEGISLATION:

Decree-Law 20/2025, of March 18, which amends Decree Law no. 36/2014, of 10 March, as amended by Regulation No. 664/2018 of 16 October - Regulates the status of international students.

Decree-Law No. 62/2018, of August 6 - Regulations for the application of the status of international students at the University of Porto.
