Apresentação Pessoal

Fernando Manuel Gomes Remião is an Associate Professor with habilitation of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (FFUP), Director of the Integrated Master in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Member of the Scientific Council of FFUP. He graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences by FFUP in 1993. He obtained his Ph.D. in Toxicology in 2002 from FFUP, after a brief period of research in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Southern California (USA). In July 2015, he obtained his “Título de Agregado” [Habilitation] in Toxicology.

Fernando Remião is currently the main Professor of the "Mechanistic Toxicology" Course Unit in the "Master Programme of Pharmaceutical Sciences" and of other related subjects in the "Master Programme in Analytical, Clinical and Forensic Toxicology" (belonging to its Scientific Committee) of FFUP and "Master and PhD Programs in Forensic Science" of the U.Porto.

Fernando Remião is also a Senior Researcher in the Toxicology Group of UCIBIO - Applied Molecular Biosciences Unit (REQUIMTE). Fernando Remião is Associate Editor of the Scientific Journal Toxicology and Applied Pharmacology, being author/co-author of more than 200 papers published in international journals. He (co)supervised, with success, 10 Ph.D. students and 16 MSc students and led two projects funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT/Portugal): More curriculum information in ORCID: 0000-0003-1382-5119

Fernando Remião has been Deputy Pro-Rector for Educational Innovation and Sport (University of Porto), Head of the Unit for the Enhancement of Learning & Teaching, between July 2014 and July 2018 and and Invited Member of the Scientific Council of the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences of the U.Porto between 2/2019 and 1/2023.

Concerning Learning and Teaching Enhancement, Fernando Remião is/was a member, by the U.Porto, of the Erasmus+ projects OEMONOM, INES, TOX-OER, EFFECT, E-VAL, PrinTEL, and Rec-Mat. In the Academic Year of 2006/2007, Fernando Remião won the Excellence Award for e-Learning at the U.Porto with the Case Study "Toxicology of Education in the framework of the Project and e-LearningUP". Fernando Remião was Erasmus Coordinator of FFUP between 2007 and 2014, being since 2014 ECTS coordinator. He joined the Jury of the Pedagogical Excellence Prize of the University of Porto in the academic years of 2012/2013 and 2013/2014 and was President of the Jury of that prize in 2014/2015/2016/2017. In 2014, Fernando Remião joined the FCT Jury contest "Sharing and Disclosure Experiences in Teaching Innovation in Portuguese Higher Education". Prof. Remião has also participated and integrated the Scientific Committees of several pedagogical conferences, namely the National Congress on Pedagogical Practices in Higher Education (CNaPPES). He has also recently participated in/coordinated evaluation panels for university projects related to combating school dropout and failure and centres of excellence for pedagogical innovation within the framework of PRR funding.
