Holding a long and consolidated experience and knowledge in the areas of medicinal drugs, but also of food and toxic; forming graduates for more than 150 years in the areas of pharmaceutical practice, clinical, microbiological and physical-chemical analyses in medicinal drugs and its raw materials, cosmetic products, food, drinking water and effluents, the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (FFUP) created, in 1993, a master's degree to train specialists in various matrices of Quality Control, namely:
The course aims to prepare specialists and researchers with the ability to act in cutting-edge areas of intervention in the Physical Sciences, through an advanced teaching of nuclear, specialty and transversal disciplines, which includes a strong laboratory component and culminates in an original research project. The study plan is based on the teaching staff solid competences and, at the same time, focuses on strategic aspects in which the lack of duly qualified and versatile professionals for the analytical control in different products is felt in the country.
The Master in Quality Control at FFUP has a duration of four semesters (120 ECTS); two semesters (60 ECTS) are dedicated to homogenizing basic knowledge, and their consolidation and deepening with mandatory subjects; the other 2 semesters are dedicated to the preparation of the Dissertation which is equivalent to 60 ECTS.
COURSE CODE (DGES)
Classes in this study cycle takes place from Monday to Friday between 5 pm and 8 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 6 pm, however, occasional adjustments to this schedule may occur.
