Teaching methods and learning activities
Theaching is presencial complemented by the internet through the informatic network of the University if Porto and the e-learning platform Moodle. There will be 26 theorical (1h) and 13 pratical (2h) classes. Theorical classes will expose the most relevant features of each theme. Practical classes will allow exploring in more detail the pharmacotherapeutic approaches according to the more recent guidelines, exemplifying with clinical cases as ever as possible and discussing some thopics on students-prepared seminars.

Eligibility for exams
Evaluation of the course (20 points) will include the presentation and discussion of two small group-seminars (S) and the final exam (Ex). Participation of the students in the discussion of the clinical cases and seminars will also account for the evaluation. If the student miss one or the two seminar, the correspondent grade is 0. The final exam is a set of 50 multiple choice questions (75min total) on the programme. In order to pass, the student must have, at least, 10 (out of 20).
Calculation formula of final grade
Final classification = 30%*S + 70%*Ex.
Students with grades equal or above 10 are approved. Those with inferior grades must have a new evaluation. A bonus of 2 (out of 20) will be given accordingly to the participation on the discussion of the practical lessons.
Examinations or Special Assignments
None
Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
As the rules of the Faculty. The CC part of the evaluation is also requires for those who are not obliged to attend the practical classes.
Classification improvement
Does not include the S part of the evaluation.
Observations
It is important that the student has at least basic knowledge of Anatomy, Histology, Physiology and Pharmacology.
