Apresentação Pessoal

Nelson G. M. Gomes (PharmD and PhD) holds an Integrated Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Coimbra in 2008, and obtained his PhD in Biomedical Sciences in 2014 from the ICBAS - School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Porto. In 2017, he was appointed as an Invited Assistant Professor at the private institute Cooperativa de Ensino Superior Politécnico e Universitário and as a visiting Professor at Kasetsart University (Thailand).
In 2016, he initiated a new research line on the therapeutic value of plants from Western Africa and Southeast Asian flora as a research associate at REQUIMTE/LAQV. He has authored 48 peer-reviewed papers and 3 book chapters and has been frequently requested to act as a peer reviewer for journals such as Marine Drugs, Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Phytomedicine, Food Research International, and Cancer, among others.

Natural products chemistry.
Marine natural products. 
Ethnopharmacology. 
Utilization of natural products for the treatment of various human diseases, in particular cancer and inflammatory diseases.
