Daniela Ribeiro has a PhD in Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at Faculty of Pharmacy of Oporto University, with the following thesis theme: "Flavonoids with potential anti-inflammatory activity: in vitro structure/activity studies of their effects in pro-inflammatory signalling systems". D. Ribeiro started her scientific work in the third year of her graduation course, in the area of antioxidant properties of bioactive compounds. Since then her research work has been focused in the anti-oxidant and inflammation fields, with in vitro cellular and non cellular studies of natural extracts from plants and compounds from synthesis.
