Personal Presentation

Eduarda Fernandes graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1991, concluded her PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry in 1996, at Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Porto (FFUP). Presently, she is Associated Professor with Aggregation at the Laboratory of Applied Chemistry, Department of Chemical Sciences, Faculty of Pharmacy at University of Porto (FFUP), and researcher of the Portuguese Research Centre for Sustainable Chemistry (LAQV) at REQUIMTE, Portugal. In 2002, she created a research unit (Free Radicals and Antioxidants Unit - FRAU), which she has been coordinating to the present, focused on the development and application of methodologies for the study of antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, antiobesogenic and anti-cancer properties of natural and synthetic compounds, in non-cellular, cellular and in vivo models. Eduarda Fernandes has participated as principal investigator and researcher in several funded scientific projects and has a vast supervision and editorial experience and holds 305+ publications, with 66000+ citations and a h-index of 78 (Scopus).
