Carmen Diniz Pereira (C. Diniz; August 1968, Canada) PhD, MSc and PharmD, is an Assistant Professor, member of the Scientific Council and of the Accreditation Commission of FFUP, where she teaches and coordinates the Pharmacology I and Anatomy and Histology courses.

She is the founder and leader of the FaS – part of the FoodInteract, conducting research under the thematic line Chemistry for Health and Well-being at REQUIMTE/LAQV - Chemistry and Bioactivity group, and is centred on three main lines and projects:
A - Corsa2Health - Study of disease-induced pathophysiological mechanisms to improve/promote health;
B) 6P4Health - Pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics of new drugs/products to improve disease treatment and health;
C) Resistinn - Resistant diseases: Innovative therapeutic strategies.
Within these projects, her current research interests include the development of new approaches for the treatment of non-communicable diseases such as cancer, diabetes and hypertension. 

She is/has been involved in national and international research projects, as a researcher (28 projects) and principal investigator (4 projects), and in postgraduate training (PDFTEC and DEMSSO at the University of Porto and Doctorate in Pharmacology and Physiology at the Autonomous University of Madrid), having supervised 11 doctorates, 7 master's degrees and 1 PosDoc. With more than 90 scientific publications, 8 book chapters and the publication of a book, C. Diniz has co-organised 6 international and national scientific events.

C. Diniz is a reviewer for international journals and a member of several international evaluation committees for scientific research projects. C. Diniz holds a FELASA C certificate and is accredited by the Direção Geral de Alimentação e Veterinária (DGAV, Portugal) to coordinate work with laboratory animals, including animal models of disease.

C.Diniz enjoys art and architecture, water sports and Yoga/Pilates.
