The FDUP juridical library began its activity in February 1996.
Its main mission is to assist and support, as a matter of priority, this institution of higher education (teachers and students) and the community in general, in promoting research and dissemination of juridical knowledge, by means of information available in its multiple media.
The bibliographic collection of the law library consists of approximately 35478 volumes of monographs and 166 titles of periodical publications, in an active state, obtained by offering, buying and exchanging (December 2022 data). The works are available in free access, organized according to the Universal Decimal Classification.
This fund also includes the Pedro Veiga nucleus, which is part of a donation of approximately 80000 volumes, made by that jurist and man of culture to the University of Porto , in 1975, and the nucleus donated by the Centro Internacional de Criminologia Comparada (CICC) of the University of Montréal.
The bibliographic fund of the Library of the Faculty of Law of the University of Porto can be consulted through the online catalog.
