Resumo (PT): This book contains the 3 courses on SMA+Active Control+Piezo Control and Applications taught on 6-7 April 2010 (organized respectively by Professors J. Humbeeck, R. Barros and A. Preumont, under the part School on S3T) and the 24 individual R&D contributions -- presented on 8-9 April 2010 -- on 6 thematic areas of actual R&D concern for the 7 collaborative research projects approved by ESF (in 2005) associated with the S3T Eurocores program (Symposium on S3T). The international event, with title of the book, took place at Porto-Portugal, 6-9 April 2010, and was sponsored at FEUP by the European Science Foundation (ESF).
