Objectives
The objective of the curricular unit (UC) “Internship/Project” is to promote academic training by carrying out practical activities of a professional nature, of a scientific-technological nature or of dissemination, within the scope of Environmental Sciences and Technology, under the supervision of a Advisor. It aims to enable Students to acquire and improve skills related to the search for information, identification and resolution of problems, the ability to synthesize and integrate knowledge and critical thinking, which will help them in a context of future employability.Learning outcomes and competences
Students must acquire skills that allow them to successfully carry out tasks of a scientific-technological nature in the field of Environmental Science and Technology, namely research and problem solving, synthesis and integration of knowledge and critical thinking. Therefore, at the end of this curricular unit, the student will be able to pursue a professional career in the field of Environmental Science and Technology.

Program
During the Internship, each student, guided by a supervisor, will address a topic related to Environmental Science and Technology. The student will prepare an Internship Report which will later be evaluated in academic tests for public presentation. The Internship can be carried out at FCUP or in research units, public or private companies, or in other host institutions that offer the necessary conditions for its implementation.Mandatory literature

Eligibility for exams
The student should attend the internship following the counselors' instructions.
Calculation formula of final grade
The final Internship classification will be awarded by the examining board constituted by the Internship/Project Committee. The Student's assessment must include the following elements and their respective weighting: a) Classification proposal from the Internship Supervisor or Person Responsible for the external entity/Research Laboratory where the internship was carried out (to be provided in a specific form, sent by e-mail and available on the SIGARRA page of the curricular unit), which must include takes into account the evaluation of the Student's performance during the internship work, preparation and content of the final report. 50% contribution to the final classification. b) Grade attributed to the report, oral presentation and discussion resulting from the assessment of the Claimant (invited by the Advisor), which has a 20% contribution to the final classification. c) Grade attributed to the report, oral presentation and discussion resulting from the assessment by the Internship/Project Committee), which contributes 30% to the final classification.Classification improvement
