Objectives

Knowing main biological and technological aspects involved in aquaculture production, with particular emphasis on the freshwater and marine species produced in Portugal. Obtaining the basic necessary skills for the biological management of an aquaculture unit.

Eligibility for exams

Final Theoretical and Theoretical-Practical examen. The final theoretical examen can be replaced by 2 tests to be carried out during the semester (date to be confirmed in the first class). It is compulsory the attendance to practical classes. Students must not miss to more of ¼ of the total number of practical foreseen. Exceptions are made for worker students. The student that obtained approval in the previous year may ask, at the beginning of that year, by e-mail to be dispensed of the practicals.


Calculation formula of final grade

Final Examen: Theoretical Part (14/20) + Theoretical-Practical Part (6/20). Approved with 9.5/20 values in the examen and 40% in each part.

The final theoretical examen (Theoretical Part) can be replaced by 2 tests to be carried out during the semester (each test has the quotation of 7/20). In this case, only the Theoretical-Practical part will be done during the normal exam period. If the student is not approved in these tests (< 40% in each test) can only have is final examination on the 2nd exam ("época de recurso").
