Objectives

The objective of this curricular unit is to provide students with the possibility of working as a team, pe rforming tasks similar to those they will encounter after completing the course.

Students will develop a small project that will integrate several of the multidisciplinar skills they have acquired.

Learning outcomes and competences

This course aims to develop in students the skills to:

• participate in team work with complementary functions.

• evaluate the offer of existing products for the different functions

• use task specification and planning methodologies based on knowledge of the function to be performed

• perform systems integration and testing

• publicly present the results of their work

• self-assess his contribution to teamwork.

Working method

Presencial

Program

Participation in the development of a project that results from the integration of several sub-systems.

Organization of students in groups that will contribute to the development of the selected project.

Alternatively, the student can individually undertake an internship in a research group or company that ensures the same

objectives (depending on the offer of placements for this purpose).

Mandatory literature

Depende do campo acima.; Depende do projeto a realizar.

Comments from the literature

Depends on the project.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Practical classes are used to work on the project and meet with the teacher, to monitor the work and discuss results. Each group must have a repository of all documents in the group.

This course has the particularity of putting students to work inside teams of relevant size, whether in the work done in

college, in business or research internships.

Achieving good results in these environments strongly depends on the skills targeted (particularly personal development

and interpersonal relationships), but also poses difficulties in assessing individual contributions.

The assessment process is designed to allow for individual assessment where collaboration with other team members is

also valued.

In the case of external internships (which require the approval of the coordinator of the curricular unit), part of the

objectives will be covered by a formal internship contract, and the evaluation will be adapted accordingly to cover the same

competences as in the other cases.
