Objectives

In this curricular unit, it is expected that the student develops the ability to: integrate knowledge, handle complex issues, and find appropriate solutions; communicate his/her findings, knowledge and reasoning that underlie them. It is also expected that the student: develops the ability to support the execution of I&D projects in Astronomy and Astrophysics, for example in the  development of instrumentation or observational data acquisition and reduction; deepen his/her knowledge in Astronomy/Astrophysics.

Learning outcomes and competences

Students acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies outlined in the work program leading to a written report, through independent work under supervision, in the form of tutorials.

Working method

Presencial

Program

Individual work program leading to the presentation of an original report on a topic of pratical interest in Astronomy/Astrophysics, specifically prepared for conclusion of this cycle of studies.

Mandatory literature

Vários; Artigos e outras publicações especificas

Comments from the literature

Scientific articles and/or chapters of books, technical publications or others that are relevant to the theme of the Internship will be indicated for each project.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The work program is chosen to enable students to reach the defined learning outcomes. In particular, it is intended that such a program puts students before unique, complex and stimulating challenges, requiring the development of new capabilities, the deepening of others, and the acquisition of relevant knowledge for their future academic and/or professional careers.

Autonomous work under supervision, in the form of tutorials, is the way that best enables students to develop the skills and competencies identified as learning outcomes. Particularly, the ability to develop I&D projects, or acquire and reduce observational data, independently.
