Objectives
For completion the master's degree a dissertation is required in a field of MCB. the main objective is that the student should master a subject of the dissertation, from a scientific and technical point of view, and its framework within the current research in the area. The student should also be able to communicate / disseminate the selected scientific topic from a written and oral point of view, and also in terms of peer discussion.Learning outcomes and competences

Calculation formula of final grade
The dissertation defense is done in a public presentation to which students and the general public can attend. The exam duration is around 1 h. The examination board typically involves 3 Professors or other experts with a PhD degree (generally at least one of them can be external to the FCUP).
After the presentation and discussion of the dissertation the examination board attributes the final classification.
