To teach advanced GIS techniques, complementary to already acquired knowledge in this field in previous courses: open-source application, advanced spatial analysis techniques, GIS programming.
1. Opens source Desktop GIS software
2. Open source libraries: GDAL / OGR / PROJ.4
3. Geographic Reference Systems and their treatment in severel GIS software packages: approaches followed by PROJ.4 and ArcGIS
4. Topological structuring of vector data
5. Raster based spatial analysis
6. Web GIS
7. GIS programming.
Theoretical classes are mainly based on Power Point presentations. Some of the topics are taught in the form of Seminars presented by specialists in the field. Practical work of applications.
