Objectives

IOT aims to initiate students in the theoretical concepts of base and in the practice of territorial planning. Understand the state and major issues affecting natural resources. Identify and understand the policies that directly or indirectly are reflected in national and European territory.
Acquisition of basic skills in the scope of the interpretation of the main natural components and processes that take place over the territory in the perspective of elaborating syntheses and proposals in territorial planning.

Learning outcomes and competences

To initiate students in the basic theoretical concepts and in the spatial planning practice. Aquisition of processes and methodologies of analysis, interpretation and basis for territorial planning.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Individual exercise (50%):

 

 

Practical exercise about interpretation of the main natural components of the territory: relief, hydrography, geology and soil. Meaning of biophysical units. Definition of the Ecological Structure. Delivery: Drawings and descriptive memory (3 pages Max)

 

 

Group project (50%):

 

 

Carrying out a Work in order to identify and understand the state and the main problems that affect the natural resources and the respective policies that directly or indirectly are reflected in the European and national territory. Presentation: 20/30 minutes. Delivery: At the beginning of the presentation, a copy of the power point to be presented -  Two slides per page. The dates of the presentations will be available in a document in Sigarra web page.
