Objectives

Equip students with the knowledge and skills required for the analysis and interpretation of drill core records surveys, three-dimensional modeling and calculation of reserves, volume and weight of a mineral deposit area.

Developing the skills required for the analysis and interpretation of drill core records surveys, three-dimensional modeling and calculation of reserves, volume and weight of a mineral deposit area. Writing of a report.

Program

1. Creation and editing data for vertical and deviated boreholes: Location, orientation, lithology, stratigraphy, geochemistry, geophysics, fracturing, groundwater levels, patterns and symbols.

2. Importing and exporting data. Data transfer between the datasheet and the borehole manager and vice versa. Location maps. Recalculation of coordinates. Vertical projection of 2D borehole logs: single and multiple.

3. 3D projection of borehole logs: single and multiple.  Profiles between boreholes. Synthesis Report of the parameters of a borehole. Creating models, profiles and fence diagrams of lithology. Lithologic maps. Volumetry of lithology by depth intervals. Import and export lithological data.

4. Calculating two-dimensional representations of structural surfaces. Creating isopach (2D). Block diagrams of stratigraphic thicknesses. Block diagrams, profiles and fence diagrams of stratigraphy. Determination of stratigraphic contacts from lithology. Stratigraphic maps. Stratigraphic volumetry. Export to ASCII files.

5. Block diagrams, profiles and fence diagrams of geochemical concentrations of elements. Volumetry of geochemical models: calculation of reserves in volume and weight. Importing and exporting data.
