Manipulation of computer algebra system Maxima to solve problems in analysis, algebra and geometry
Use of Maxima software for numeric/ymbolic calculus and graph plotting.
1 Introduction to Maxima:
graphic interface; variables; functions; programming; graphics
2. Solving problems in linear algebra:
matricvial calculus, determinants, eigenvalues, affine transformations of plane and space;
solving linear recurrences.
3. Solving problems in differential calculus:
differentiation; integration; graphics plots (2d and 3d); curves in plane and space; tangent plane;
maximum and minimum problems; solving non-linear equations; solving nonlinear system of equations.
4. Solving problems in elementar number theory;
integer and polynomial division; greatest common divisor; prime factorization; congruences.
Lecturers followed by pratical classes based on the use of Maxima software in in computer aboratory.
