Objectives
Develop the ability to survey, analyze, plan and design small-scale outdoor space (private or public) according to functional, aesthetic, ecological and economic criteria. Create, represent, organize and present the necessary technical drawings and needed for Landscape Architecture project at the Preliminary Study.
Introduction to computer aided design.
Program
1. Outer space as the project area for Landscape Architecture.
2. Main design components of outdoor spaces - topography, vegetation, water and built structures.
3. The effect of edges in the promotion of biological diversity and sense of place.
4. Scale, dimensioning and materials. Exploring aesthetic and functional realities: shape, line, color, texture, seasonal dynamics, sound, smell, touch, active and passive recreation, circulation, cultivation, protection, partitioning, reception, preservation and promotion of wildlife.
5. Landscape Architecture project and its components (phases, drawings, written documents and models).
6. Sketching the space: zoning - areas of activity and movements (plots and corridors), the exploration of form.
7. Design principles in Landscape Architecture. 8
9. Freehand drawing and computer aided design.
