Objectives

After attending the course, students should:
1) Acquire an integrated view of olericulture and ornamental horticulture
2) Know the economic and social relevance of horticulture, with emphasis on the geography, economics, and contribution to the food balance of national horticulture
3) Know the most common classification schemes and the scientific names of the main horticultural crops,
4) Understand the crop intensification techniques and practices used in horticulture
5) Be able to project greenhouses and equipments for climate control.
