Necessary documents

• Identification document (Identity Card/Citizen Card/Passport) or  Identity Card Data containing identification data (mandatory).
• Diploma or certificate issued by a competent authority attesting to the successful completion of a secondary education programme (1) (mandatory).
• A statement issued by the corresponding official educational services from the country of origin attesting that the secondary school qualification obtained fulfills that country’s requirements to apply to similar higher education degrees, or a certificate awarding the candidates’ qualifications recognition to Portuguese secondary education issued by the competent national authorities (1) (2) (mandatory).
• Supporting documents of completion of the specific admission exams to higher education in the country of origin, or the homologous exams to conclude the secondary education in the country of origin, or the homologous exams of the final stage of secondary education in the country of origin or the National High School Exam (ENEM) (3) (mandatory).
• Documents proving knowledge of the Portuguese language. You must complete and submit this form (mandatory) School Curriculum Bulletin;
• Document issued by the competent authorities that provides proof that the candidate does not reside legally in Portugal for an uninterrupted period of more than two years, from 1 January of the year of application. If this document is not obtained before the deadline for application, the candidate must submit a signed sworn statement, as described above (mandatory) Declaração sob Compromisso de Honra_FCUP.
• ENES form (National Secondary Education Exams) if the candidate has a Portuguese secondary education (optional).

 

(1) The foreign documents must be authenticated by the Portuguese diplomatic or consular authority in the country of origin, or with the Hague Apostille, for countries which are signatories of the Hague Convention. The same applies to the mandatory translations when the documents are written in a foreign language other than Portuguese, Spanish, French, English, or Italian.

(2) Are exempt from presenting this statement: - Holders of secondary school or 2nd degree from Brazil who have taken the National Secondary Education Exam (ENEM). However, they must attach the diploma of completion of secondary education or the high school history.

(3) The document proving the results of the ENEM does not require authentication since this information is confirmed by the INEP - National Institute for Studies and Research.

All documents must be authenticated as indicated in Necessary documents. The submission of unauthenticated and/or documents without official recognition may be admitted until the deadline for posting the provisional results.

 

Note: 

Students who have already attended a foreign higher education course can apply for recognition/accreditation of the previous training if they so wish. For this purpose, the following documents are required:

1. Certificate of completed curricular units.
2. Programme and credit/workload certificate.
3. A NARIC declaration issued by the Directorate General of Higher Education (DGES) attesting the level of the foreign training for the purposes of accreditation/recognition, in accordance with the procedure described in: https://www.dges.gov.pt/pt/pagina/declaracoes-naric
   or
   Declaration issued by the competent authorities of the country in which the qualification was obtained, recognizing the institution as part of its higher education system.

The request for recognition / accreditation of previous training has a cost of 50¤.
