I graduated in Physics/Applied Mathematics in 2003 and completed a master degree in Astronomy in 2004, both by the University of Porto. My PhD thesis was developed at CAUP and at Centro de Astronomia e Astrofísica da Universidade de Lisboa. In 2009 I started a post-doc (funded by FCT) between CAUP and the Instituto de Astrofisica de Canarias (Spain). Recognizing the importance of astro-informatics in present day astrophysics, in parallel to my post-doc I have also graduated in Informatics Engineering by the School of Engineering, Polythecnic of Porto in 2012. In 2013 I was an Assistant Professor at Department of Physics and Astronomy, Porto University and I am currently a regular invited professor for the Astronomy doctoral program. Also, since 2017 I am an invited Assistant professor at a private university (CESPU). I am currently supervising 2 PhD students and 2 under-graduate student. I have already successfully ended the supervision of 4 post-docs, 2 PhD students, 6 MSc, and 11 under-graduate students. My recognized expertise in the field of exoplanets, together with my know-how in instrumentation development, led me to be invited and to serve since 2018 as the national representative at the Science Technical Commitee and the ELT Sub-comittee at ESO. I have published 170 papers in international peer review journals with nearly 7800 citations and an H-index of 47 (NASA ADS - http://adsabs.harvard.edu). Some of these papers were published in Nature and Science. I am leading author of 15 refereed papers that alone have already gathered ~1150 citations. My scientific productivity is mostly based on my leadership and participation in several successful observation proposals, including some ESO Large Programs. I am currently the PI of two research projects, both from national funding, one large project (240 kE for 3 years) and an exploratory project (40kE for 5 years). I was also the PI of a bi-lateral project between Portugal and Poland (~10 kE). As Co-I I was involved in many national and international projects. I currently participate in several large international collaborations. I am member of the science teams of both CHEOPS and ESPRESSO. For CHEOPS I am leading the "Target Stellar Characterization" working group. I participate in the GAIA-ESO Survey, having a "Survey Builder" status, and coordinating the activities in IA. I also participate in the TESS Asteroseismic Science Consortium. In the context of instrumentation I am strongly involved in the CHEOPS ESA Mission, being in charge for the development of the Data Calibration Software (Ground Segment) within the Data Reduction Working Package. I am also finalizing the development of the Data Analysis Software packages for the ESPRESSO@VLT. Finally, I gave several oral presentations in international conferences and courses in two international schools. I participated in the organization of 5 international conferences and several workshops and project progress meetings.
