Admissions Requirements

Normally, candidates are required to have completed a degree in Mathematics (or a related area) of one of the following types:

• a Master degree (second cycle of higher studies in the European Union Bolonha system);
• a Bachelor degree (4 or more year undergraduate degree in the pre-Bolonha system);
• any degree which is legally considered equivalent to one of the above.

Applications from candidates who are expected to satisfy the above requirement before the planned date of start of their doctoral studies within the program are welcome. If accepted, admission will be conditioned on completion of one of the required degrees.

Exceptionally, candidates whose scientific, academic and professional curriculum demonstrates ability to pursue doctoral studies may also apply. It is up to the Steering Committee to evaluate whether the special conditions are met.

Selection and Ranking Criteria

• Curriculum Vitae of the candidate (100%)
• Undergraduate and master’s grades. (75%)
• Possible complementary training in Mathematics; Publications and other relevant works; Recommendation letters. (25%)

Candidates tie break

Grades obtained by the candidate in each subcriteria by the following order:

1. Undergraduate and master’s grades
2. Complementary training.
