Environmental Contamination by Toxins
TCAEM02 - ECTS
To provide knowledge on the occurrence and diversity of toxins in the natural environment, explain the common methods for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of toxins and to talk about human and environmental health risks
Exposure and Fate of Xenobiotics in the Organism
Molecular and Cellular Mechanisms of Toxicity and Detoxification
Planning and Analysis of Data from Toxicity Assays
TCAEM05 - ECTS
Promote the use of the acquired knowledge in solving problems underlying the experimental process in toxicology; from the formulation of hypotheses; selection of appropriate statistical tests the hypotheses; Design of experience so as to obtain results according to an experimental plan drawn up on the basis of the hypotheses to be tested and the selected statistical test; and interpretation of the results.
Seminar
TCAEM06 - ECTS
It is expected that at the end of the course, students will have acquired training in using research tools to collect information and manage bibliography on a specific topic, in carrying out critical analysis of the information collected in scientific articles, and in synthesizing and presenting this information in the form of an oral presentation and a written mini-review.
Xenobiotics in the Environment
TCAEM01 - ECTS
The objective of this unit is to present environmental xenobiotics, their source in the environment, the contamination and environmental fate. Also, the toxicology of these substances is reviewed.
