Objectives
To become familiar with the research and selection of scientific and technical references, to analyse and discuss scientific papers and to acquire mathematical communication skills, both oral and written.
Learning outcomes and competences
Students must acquire skills in the following domains:
a) research and selection of scientific bibliography relevant to their theses or projects;
b) understanding, analysis, discussion and criticism of the selected bibliography;
c) oral and written communication of mathematical results.

The syllabus is selected according to the subjects of the students' thesis/internship, covering themes of general interest in Mathematics and its applications.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Each student (together with his/her supervisor) selects a published paper (or several) on a topic related to the subject of its thesis/internship.
These papers are the subject of the students' seminars, which should encourage their discussion in the class.
Until the seminars begin, there will be discussion in class on the various papers and familiarization with oral communication techniques.
