Practical classes
ALGAE
Observation of selected macroalgae and microalgae. Vegetative and reproductive structures. Life cycles.
Extraction of photosynthetic pigments.
FUNGI & LICHENS
Observation of selected fungi.
Observation of lichens. Internal organization, reproductive structures and color tests.
Lectures are given interactively with students.
In practical classes, students carry out themselves the experiments. The results are discussed at the end of each experiment. Students have at their disposal a guide to practical work, with the description of all experiences, and references to support key experiences.
In the system-SIGARRA FCUP are provided additional information for the study of materials of theoretical and practical classes.designation | Weight (%) |

Corresponds to the classification of the final exam.
The exam has questions about the contents of the lectures and of the practical classes.
Final exam with questions about the lectures and the practical classes.Bibliographic material to support the classes is available in the SIGARRA system, attached to each theoretical and practical class. In addition to the final exam (Normal Season and Time of Appeal), students will have the possibility to do the discipline, in advance, through two Tests. Test I: Algae Part: 10 values. Test II: Part Fungi & Lichens: 10 values.
If the student performs the two tests and obtains more than 9.5 values, it is approved in the discipline. The classification will be posted on the Normal Season Exam. If the student performs only one of the tests, he can keep this note in the Exam (Normal or Resource) and only perform the other part.
Tests or Exam: Algae Part - 10 values: 7 part T, 3 part TP; Part Fungi and Lichen - 10 values: 7 part T, 3 part TP. The Test and Exam tests focus on theoretical and practical-laboratory classes. In Exam Improvements, students must do a complete exam.
