Objectives

Develop basic skills in terms of analysis and criticism of art, with emphasis on artistic domains, forms of expression and productions relating to the object of professional practice of the landscape architect; Promote the coordination of programmatic contents. 

Learning outcomes and competences

Recognize vocabularies, stylistic grammars; Interpreting themes and forms; Identify techniques and materials; Contextualize currents or movements, artists and productions in social, cultural, economic and political scenarios.

Art and concepts; forms of expression and works related to the object of professional practice of landscape architect; geographical, chronological and cultural contextualization.

1st part

Art and prehistory; the first great civilizations, Mesopotamia and Egypt; Classical Antiquity;

2nd part

Art in the middle ages; Romanesque and Gothic

3rd part

Renaissance and Mannerism; Baroque and Rococo; Artistic productions in the age of enlightenment; Art and revolution in transition. XVIII to XIX; Romanticism, Eclecticism and Revivalism; Modernist movements, precursors and pioneers

Part 4

Contemporary art. The second half of the 20th century. XX and the entry in the III Millennium
