Andrés Rodríguez Seijo holds a PhD in Terrestrial Ecosystems, Sustainable Uses and Environmental Implications (2016, University of Vigo, Spain). He is a junior FCT researcher at CIIMAR-UP in microplastics in soils and develops research in soils contaminated by military and industrial activities. He has participated in 7 research projects, author or co-author of 27 scientific papers published in ISI-WOS journals, 6 national and international book chapters, and more than 38 presentations at national and international conferences/workshops.

He is a reviewer of more than 38 WoS journals and research projects (Czech Science Foundation and European Commission (Horizon 2020)). As part of his science dissemination activity, he is a member of the editorial board of Open Agriculture (ISSN: 2391-9531), Air, Soil and Water Research (ISSN: 1178-6221) and Academic Editor in PloS One (ISSN: 1932-6203).

Main research areas: Soil contamination, heavy metals, microplastics and soil ecology and ecotoxicology.
