Personal Presentation
Ruth Pereira holds a PhD and Habilitation in Biology and is Associated Professor with Habilitation at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (FCUP), director of GreenUPorto Research Centre, where she leads the research line on Environmental Quality and Risk Assessment (https://www.fc.up.pt/GreenUPorto/pt/) and also, scientific coordinator of INOV4Agro Associated Laboratory. She has participated in several national and international research projects, supervised numerous MSc and PhD students, and served on scientific advisory panels for the European Commission, FAO, ISO and other organizations. With around 180 scientific publications, her work focuses on risk assessment of contaminated areas and of new chemical substances, soil ecology and ecotoxicology, and soil health indicators.
As part of her outreaching activities she is Editor in Chief of the Journal CAPTAR - Ciência e Ambiente para Todos (http://revistas.ua.pt/index.php/captar).
