Personal Presentation

Biology BSc degree at FCUP, MSc in Plant Physiology and Biochemistry at FCUL and Biology PhD at FCUP.
The research activity focuses on the use of Solanum sp. for phytoremediation/biofortification purposes and to understand the specific responses of these species to the stresses caused by heavy metals and organic pollutants using molecular biology and biochemistry tools.
Other interests: Oxidative stress in higher plants and its application for a better stress tolerance; Nitrogen metabolism in plants of agronomic interest and strategies to increase N content and nutritional value.
