Apresentação Pessoal

Aurélia Saraiva is professor in the Biology Department at the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto and researcher in CIIMAR. She began her scientific activity in the study of fish pathology, especially diseases of bacterial etiology of obligatory declaration. Participated in investigations that led to the notification of the occurrence in Portugal, for the first time, of a notifiable disease (Furunculosis) and of the Ulcerative Dermal Necrosis (UDN).). At the moment she works mainly in fish parasitology and fish histopathology/ fish health status. She participated in many national and international projects. She supervised /co-supervised over 40 students (Pos-Doc, PhD, Master and internship of national and foreign students) and gave several intensive courses in foreigner countries of South America, mainly in Brazil. She published 66 publications in peer reviewed journals, did 20 oral communications by invitation plus 101 (oral and poster) in international / national scientific conferences.
