Objectives

The discipline of Urban Anthropology is interested in a whole range of issues related to various otherness - social, cultural, sexual, ethnic, etc. - that form the basis of the social fabric, and that coexist in urban contexts. The main objective of this course is to promote among students an "anthropological and denatured gaze" on the socio-cultural complexity from the exploration of theories and conceptual tools of anthropological sciences.

Program

Based on the general objectives of the course the syllabus was organized from a set of fundamental concepts and theories in order to understand the contemporary world.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Throughout the semester will be used various methods of teaching - expository, interrogative, demonstrative and active - in order to enable better acquisition of diverse content.
