Objectives
— Acquire critical knowledge from the analysis of a society strongly structured in the sharing of visual information;
— Reflect on the importance of the contemporary visual universe, articulating this principle with creative processes developed in Units of the Communication Design course;
— Understand perspectives of Visual Culture that enhance complementarity relations with other scientific areas;
— Analyze perception systems associated with the practice of Contemporary Communication Design;
— Question the importance of Visual Culture as a permanent field of renewal and conceptualization;
— Encourage the inclusion of critical and theoretical methodologies in communication design projects;
— Promote the affirmation of an individual and creative discourse;
— Contribute to the improvement of visual knowledge from a set of structured seminars in different scientific areas.
Learning outcomes and competences
— Empowering students with visual knowledge;
— Expand the visual culture from historical and contemporary contexts;
— To foment the thought and the argumentation in the construction and defense of projects of Communication Design;
— Enable students of critical awareness in the construction of projects related to the practice of contemporary design;
— To value the capacity of articulation of thought in a public presentation constructed from the knowledge taught;

The UC will work in a system of 10 seminars presented by professors and researchers from various scientific areas, keeping the focus of the Contemporary Design practices. The following topics will be addressed:
