Miguel Carvalhais is Professor of Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto. His research explores computational art, design, and aesthetics, topics to which he has dedicated two books: Art and Computation (2022, V2_) and Artificial Aesthetics (2016, U. Porto Press). His artistic practice is developed between computational music, sound art, performance, and installation, in which he regularly collaborates with Pedro Tudela as the @c project. He runs Crónica, a label for experimental music and sound art, and the xCoAx conference on computation, communication, aesthetics, and x.
