Apresentação Pessoal

Noémia Herdade Gomes (Angola, 1969) licenciou-se em Pintura (FBAUP, 1993), fez um mestrado em Theatre Design (Slade School, 1997) na University College London (UCL) e doutorou-se em Desenho na Faculdade de Belas Artes de Barcelona com a tese "Desenho - Interacções e extensões no processo, projeto e trabalho artístico. Case study of William Kentridge" (2011), desenvolvida durante o período em que viveu em Joanesburgo (2006-2010) e colaborou no atelier do artista William Kentridge. A tese foi galardoada com o Premi Extraordinari de Doctorat pela Universidade de Barcelona em 2013. Leccionou na Escola Superior Artística do Porto (ESAP) (1998-2001), na Escola das Artes da Universidade Católica (1999-2001) e, desde 2000, na Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade do Porto (FAUP), onde é Professora Auxiliar desde 2011.Em 2012, tornou-se investigadora do Centro de Estudos de Arquitetura e Urbanismo (CEAU-FAUP), no grupo Arquitetura: Teoria, Projeto, História (ATPH), e coordena atualmente o programa de investigação "The Drawing Collection". A sua investigação centra-se atualmente no desenho dos alunos da FAUP, com recurso às novas tecnologias e aos arquivos digitais, nas extensões do Desenho para diferentes públicos, e na reinvenção da linguagem do desenho, nomeadamente através da observação. Para além do seu trabalho como docente e investigadora, mantém uma produção artística constante, realizando projectos de artes visuais e de curadoria.


Noémia Herdade Gomes (Angola, 1969) has a degree in Painting (FBAUP, 1993), an MA in Theatre Design (Slade School, 1997) from University College London (UCL) and a PhD in Drawing from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Barcelona with the thesis "Drawing - Interactions and extensions in the process, project and artistic work. Case study of William Kentridge" (2011), developed during the period in which she lived in Johannesburg (2006-2010) and collaborated in the studio of the artist William Kentridge. The thesis was awarded the Premi Extraordinari de Doctorat by the University of Barcelona in 2013. She has taught at the Escola Superior Artística do Porto (ESAP) (1998-2001), the Escola das Artes of the Catholic University (1999-2001) and, since 2000, at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP), where she has been an Assistant Professor since 2011. In 2012, she became a researcher at the Centre for Architecture and Urbanism Studies (CEAU-FAUP), in the group Architecture: Theory, Project, History (ATPH), and currently coordinates the research programme "The DrawingCollection". Her research is currently centred on the drawing of FAUP students, using new technologies and digital archives, the extensions of Drawing for different audiences, and the reinvention of the language of drawing, namely through observation. In addition to her work as a lecturer and researcher, she maintains an artistic output, realising visual arts and curatorial projects.
