The UC aims to raise students' awareness of the impact of buildings on environmental and social ecosystems, studying and discussing, throughout the sessions, some topics that can inform the construction of an individual position.
This course aims to create a theoretical reflection field around architectural intervention in archaeological contexts, addressing analysis methodologies and intervention tools, as well as project experiences carried out by transdisciplinary teams.
To this end, we will have the participation of architects with extensive experience in interventions in ruins, who will personally present their projects. The invited guests for this course include Alexandre Alves Costa (Atelier 15), Miguel Ángel de la Iglesia (LABPAP), Luís Miguel Correia (COMOCO), João Mendes Ribeiro, and Luigi Franciosini.
Additionally, the course seeks to foster the formation of theoretical discussion groups and/or intervention project development in the specified area, in collaboration with other educational institutions and the Centro de Estudos de Arquitectura e Urbanismo (CEAU-FAUP). It also aims to strengthen international partnerships in research and knowledge transfer. An example of this collaboration is the development of Integrated Master's Dissertations at FAUP.
