Objectives

1. Develop knowledge and skills related to the practice of Exercise and health;
2. Understand the importance of the practice of Exercise and physical activity in promoting a healthy lifestyle;
3. Develop competencies in the area of promoting exercise in certain populations; 

Learning outcomes and competences

1. Acquire skills in aerobic gymnastics (Gym activities; Step; Water Gymnastics; work of muscular endurance)
2. mobilising knowledge and skills to solve problems of practice teaching of different activities of the training centers and probationary period by the particularities of the material, of age groups and levels of practice.
3. acquire skills in the promotion, organization and development of sports activities in different contexts of practice and intervention stocks.
4. integrating and contextualizing knowledge of Methodology I option exercise and health in the various training centres and placement;
5. to acquire knowledge in the context of planning, implementation, management and evaluation of training centres and Stage

Program

The curricular unit of Metodologia do Desporto II-Exercício e Saúde is a semester discipline and is intended for students of 3rd year of the degree course, beginning in the 1st semester. This assumes a component mainly practice and with closely the areas of professional activity, sustained in the conceptual bases previously acquired and enabling, at this stage, a contact with the praxis that promotes and provides the professional future for a correct and effective pos graduation intervention .


Presents an hourly load 8H , organized into 2 distinct blocks.

A practical block (2:0) for developing skills in the exercise and health, which includes teórcio lessons: practice guideline Slide Rappel, Indoor Cycling, Pilates, Crostraining, etc.

A theoretical module (2H). This block will be subject to evaluation by writen exam.

The pedagogical training will be the theoretical-practical block (at least 4h ) and will have a contribution of 50% for the final grade.
The evaluation practice of pedagogical training will be held by the respective Advisor.Tthe Portfolio  will have a weight of 30%.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The programme is divided into lectures and theoretical-practical lessons.

The theoretical course is matched to a theoretical lesson of 2:0 per week. This class makes sure the presentation and discussion of fundamental theoretical concepts of the discipline, as well as the presentation of individual and Group Work.

Practical classes of transmission and delivery of content.

Experience of situations of pedagogical practice (observation training, preparation and implementation of teaching tasks).

Eligibility for exams

Effective attendance and participation in 75% of practical classes.
Practical assessments of each component covered (test 50% of the final mark).
Practical work in the Exercise and Health Internship (50 per cent of the final grade distributed as 70 per cent of the practical component; 30 per cent of the internship report).

Whereas this discipline consists primarily of participation in a Centre or pedagogical training, there is no possibility to make any assessment other than through the integral participation in one of these centres.

Examinations or Special Assignments

Submission of a written work on the implementation of one or more modalities discussed (choice) in a given context (preferably identical to that of the Centre or pedagogical training ), representing 20% of final score. The work will have a maximum of 10 pages, spacing 1.5, 2.5 margins (letter 11, Index, Introduction, characterisation of method (s), characterization of the context (physical space and target population), demonstration of the relevance of applying activity Description, activity (for example, choreography, direction, ...) and bibliography.

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

For students covered by legislation on the special situations of frequency is required special proof to proof of knowledge and skills related to the goals and contents of the discipline.

Classification improvement

There is no possibility of improvement on the internship Centre or pedagogical training (distributed).
