Objectives


  • To acquire advanced knowledge concerning the main actions of the volleyball game and their logic sequence: advanced variations of serve, reception, setting, attack, block and defence.

  • To acquire basic knowledge of collective tactical organization in the context of 4 vs. 4 and 6 vs. 6 games.

  • To acquire basic knowledge concerning rules for 6 vs. 6 volleyball.

  • To domain minimum motor skills to apply the previous points under game conditions.

  • To domain pedagogical progressions for teaching the game (4 vs. 4 and 6 vs. 6) and its tactical-technical actions (main variations).

  • To acquire basic knowledge of effective organization of tournaments in the context of 4 vs. 4 and 6 vs. 6 games.

Learning outcomes and competences


  • The student applies, in the context of 4 vs. 4 and 6 vs. 6 games, the actions of serve, reception, setting, attack, block and defence.

  • The student interacts with the teammates, in the context of 4 vs. 4 and 6 vs. 6 games, in a coherent manner, respecting a collective tactical structure.

  • The student plays while respecting the main rules for volleyball.

  • The student helps his/her colleagues during the exercises and the games, acting as a teacher in every moment (peer teaching).

  • The student is capable of implementing quick and effective systems of playing under the format of tournaments.

  • Organizing tournaments based on small-sided games and also 6 vs. 6 games.

Eligibility for exams



Access to evaluation requires that students are present in a minimum of 75% of the number of lessons.


Effective practice, according to the general regulations for Practical Studies, is understood as the fulfilment of the tasks proposed by the professors in the context of lesson, implying – in the vast majority of lessons – an active participation in the practical tasks.


 


In each component of evaluation, it is necessary to obtain a minimum of 8.0 values. For overall approval, a minimum classification of 9.5 values is required.

Calculation formula of final grade

Written test*0.25 + Practical evaluation (ongoing)*0.75.


Minimum grade for each of the components is 8.0.

Minimum grade for global evaluation is 9.5.

Observations

In light of the Covid19 situation, the evaluation was changed: online test 50% and delivery of two short videos 50%. Lessons online in real time. The students were duly informed of the changes, as well as the coordinator of EPIV and the Pedagogical Counsil.
