Details
Summary: This project aims to develop honey-based and hyaluronic formulations, well known and widely used products in Portugal, for the prevention and treatment of chronic wounds in all its phases.
Other compounds, such as hyaluronic acid, will be added to the therapeutic properties of honey, to contribute to a faster and more efficient healing of the wound, leading to differentiated formulations
in the medical device market with a higher performance profile than the existing therapies and at a reduced overall unit cost.
Results: Espera-se desenvolver um processo de Esterilização de Mel para fins Clínicos, com suporte e desenvolvimento de um equipamento baseado em aplicação de campo elétrico de alta frequência, baseado em tecnologia GaN e/ou aplicação de ultrasons de potência capaz de realizar a esterilização completa, ie, em que se verifique ausência de organismos com viabilidade biológica no mel processado para fins clínicos.
